Service: One Live ID (id.live.net.co), including accounts carried over from former Live Store
Accounts
1. About these Terms
One Live ID ("the Service") is the account and sign-in service of One Live ("we", "us", "our"),
established in the European Union. It lets you sign in to One Live services and to apps built by other
developers with a single account. These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and One Live
about your use of the Service.
By creating a One Live ID or using the Service, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, please
do not use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your
personal data; it is information for you, not a contract you agree to, and your rights under data
protection law do not depend on accepting these Terms.
The One Live services you sign in to have their own terms and policies, which apply in addition to these
Terms when you use them.
2. Who can use One Live ID
To create and use a One Live ID you must:
be at least 13 years old, and, if the law of your country sets a higher age for using services like
ours without a parent's or guardian's permission, either be that age or have that permission;
be able to enter into these Terms under the law that applies to you;
not have been permanently restricted from the Service, unless we have agreed otherwise.
Some One Live services set a higher minimum age than One Live ID. Having a One Live ID does not by itself
entitle you to use them.
3. Your account
Accurate details. Give a real email address that you control (no disposable or
temporary addresses) and keep it up to date. We use it to confirm your account, recover it and tell
you about security events.
Usernames. Choose a username that does not impersonate anyone, infringe anyone's
rights, or break the law or the rules of the One Live services. We may ask you to change, or change,
a username that does.
One person per account. Your One Live ID is personal. Do not share your password,
recovery codes or app passwords, and do not sell or transfer your account.
Security. Keep your sign-in details confidential and your devices secure. We
strongly recommend turning on two-step verification or a passkey. Tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think someone else has accessed your
account; you can also sign out of every browser and withdraw app access on the Sessions page.
Responsibility. You are responsible for activity on your account that you carry
out or allow, and for activity that results from your failing to keep your sign-in details safe. You
are not responsible for misuse caused by our fault, or that happens after you have told us your
account was compromised.
Recovery. If you forget your password we can send a reset link to your email
address. Keep your recovery codes somewhere safe: if you lose access to your email address and your
second step, we may not be able to confirm that the account is yours.
4. Sign-in methods and security features
Two-step verification asks for a code from an authenticator app or by email in
addition to your password. We may ask for it again when you sign in from a new place, even if you
chose "remember this device".
Passkeys let you sign in with your device's screen lock or a security key, on
browsers that support them. They are stored by your device or password manager; if you lose all of
them, use your password and second step instead.
App passwords let older apps that cannot show our sign-in page connect to your
account. Each is shown once, can be limited to one app, and can be revoked at any time. Treat them
like your password.
Security alerts. We email you about important events on your account, such as a
sign-in from a new place, a changed password or email address, or a newly authorized app. These
emails are part of the Service and cannot be turned off.
Protective limits. To protect accounts we may temporarily block sign-in attempts
after repeated failures, limit how often emails can be resent, and refuse new registrations from
networks identified as proxies, VPNs or hosting providers, as described in the Privacy Policy. If you
think a limit was applied to you in error, contact us and a person will review it.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
create accounts by automated means, in bulk, or to get around a restriction on another account;
access or try to access another person's account, or collect other users' data, without permission;
probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service, or get around its security measures, rate limits
or network checks, except as part of a responsible disclosure made to [email protected] that does not access other people's data or
disrupt the Service;
overload, disrupt or interfere with the Service, or reverse-engineer it except where the law allows;
use the Service for phishing, fraud, impersonation, or anything unlawful;
build apps or sites that imitate One Live ID's sign-in pages or ask users for their One Live ID
password outside id.live.net.co.
6. Signing in to other services and apps
One Live services. When you sign in to a One Live service, One Live ID tells that
service who you are, as described in the Privacy Policy. That service's own terms govern your use of
it, and it may restrict your access under its own rules.
Third-party apps. Apps built by other developers are not operated by One Live. Before
an app receives any of your data we show you an authorization screen listing what it asks for; only
allow apps you trust. The app's own terms and privacy policy govern what it does with your data, and
we are not responsible for it. You can withdraw an app's access at any time on the Sessions page.
Deleting your One Live ID stops it from being used to sign in to any service or app,
but does not delete the accounts or data those services and apps hold. Ask them directly.
7. Developers
If you register an app to use "Sign in with One Live ID" through the One Live Developer Centre, you also
agree that:
the app name, developer name, description, logo and support email you give us are accurate and do not
imply that the app is made or endorsed by One Live;
you will request only the permissions your app needs, and use the data you receive only for the
purposes you disclose to users;
you are an independent controller of the data your app receives, you will comply with the data
protection laws that apply to you, and you will publish a privacy policy explaining how your app
handles users' data;
you will keep your client secrets and tokens secure, stop using a user's data when they withdraw
access where the law requires it, and delete it when you no longer need it;
you will not sell user data obtained through One Live ID, or use it for advertising profiles without
the user's separate, valid consent;
we may suspend or remove your app, or its access to particular permissions, if it breaks these Terms,
puts users at risk, or receives credible complaints.
8. Restrictions, suspension and appeals
If you break these Terms or the rules of a One Live service, or we reasonably believe your account is
involved in fraud, abuse, a security threat or illegal activity, we may restrict your account. A
restriction can apply to all One Live services (which also stops you signing in) or only to some of them,
and can be temporary or permanent. We may also act where the law requires it.
Restrictions are decided by people, not solely by automated systems.
We will tell you by email and on the Service which services are affected, for how long, and why,
unless the law prevents us or telling you would put others at risk.
You may appeal from the restriction page on id.live.net.co. A staff member will review
your appeal and tell you the outcome by email. If your appeal is accepted, the restriction is lifted.
Our action will be proportionate to what happened. For less serious issues we may warn you first.
9. Ending your account
By you. You can delete your One Live ID at any time from the Delete Account tab in ID Settings, or by writing to [email protected] with the subject "One Live ID Account
Deletion". Deletion is permanent: you will no longer be able to sign in to any One Live service or app
with that account. What happens to your data is explained in the Privacy Policy.
By us. We may close your account under section 8, or if we are required to by law. We may
also stop offering the Service as a whole. Except where the law or a serious breach requires otherwise, we
will give you at least 30 days' notice by email, so that you can move to other sign-in methods on the
services you use and exercise your data protection rights.
10. The Service
One Live ID is provided free of charge. We work to keep it available and secure, but we may change,
suspend or discontinue features, for example to improve security or keep up with technology such as new
browser requirements for passkeys. Where a change significantly affects how you sign in, we will tell you
in advance where we reasonably can.
Except as stated in these Terms and to the extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as
available", and we do not promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.
11. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our
negligence, for fraud, for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, or any other liability that
cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you, including your statutory rights as a
consumer.
Subject to the paragraph above, and because the Service is provided free of charge, we are not liable for
loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit,
business or opportunity, and we are not liable for the acts of One Live services' separate operators, of
third-party apps, or for events beyond our reasonable control, such as internet outages or failures of
third-party networks.
You are responsible for any breach of these Terms or of the law that you commit through your account, to
the extent the law holds you responsible for it.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms, for example when the Service or the law changes. We will post the updated
version here and keep earlier versions on the past policies page.
For material changes, such as changes that affect your rights, limit who can use the Service or
change what the Service does with your account, we will tell you by email and on our social media at
least 30 days before they take effect.
For minor changes, such as clearer wording or corrections that do not reduce your rights, we will
post a notice at least 24 hours before they take effect.
If you do not agree to a change, you can delete your account before it takes effect. Changes required
urgently by law or for security may take effect sooner, and we will tell you as soon as we can.
13. Disputes and governing law
If you have a problem with the Service, please contact [email protected] first: most issues can be resolved quickly
this way. We will try in good faith to resolve it within 30 days, and either of us may then suggest
mediation by an agreed neutral mediator.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the member state of the European Union in which One Live is
established.
14. General
If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
If we do not enforce a part of these Terms straight away, we can still do so later.
You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours to an organisation that takes
over the Service, provided your rights are not reduced; we will tell you if this happens.
These Terms, together with the terms of the One Live services you use, are the whole agreement between
you and us about One Live ID.
These Terms may be offered in several languages. If a translation conflicts with the English version,
the English version applies to the extent the law allows.
